Text: "Yonah" (The Book of Jonah)

Jonah is the only Minor Prophetaic book referred to specifially by Jesus Christ, and the only prophet with whom he compares himself. both came from Galilee - the Pharisees were forgetting Jonah when they said that no prophet came out of Galilee (John 7:52). Gathhepher, the modern Khirbet ez-Zurra', is only a few miles northeast of Nazareth (Josh. 19:13). Jonah's mission to Nineveh was significant in pointing to salvation for other sheep outside the house of Israel. the Galilean disciples in responding to the great commission to make disciples of all nations, given to them in Galilee, were following Jonah's reluctant example.  The Book of Jonah opens our eyes to see others and various animals, and how God loves them as much as God loves us.
