          Second Peter is our earliest evidence for the use of Jude in early Christianity.  Jude’s apocalyptic condemnation of the false teachers who had infiltrated the community (v. 4) provided much of the ammunition for 2 Peter’s

attack on similar false teachers (2 Peter 2:1-3:3). 

          The Book of Jude insists that the way Christians keep themselves in this realm of God’s love is by building

each other up on the foundation of the good tradition, by praying under the guidance and control of the Spirit and

under the power of one’s own desires, and by waiting for the mercy of Jesus Christ, which leads to eternal life.
